Overview
The Staffordshire Training Hub (STH) recognises the importance of on-going staff education and training, valuing education as essential to delivering excellent care and professional development. In collaboration with the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (SSOT) Integrated Care Board (ICB), the STH has secured additional funding to continue the GP Postgraduate Training Bursary.
Offer
The bursary is available to support eligible GPs to stay up to date with the latest developments, enhance clinical practice, share learning and improve patient outcomes.
The scheme is open to salaried GPs and GP Partners working in SSOT who have been qualified (post-CCT) for at least one year and are not currently participating in any other NHS scheme.
Eligible GPs can apply for a maximum of £2,500 to support one or more postgraduate education and training activities, however statutory and mandatory training will not be considered.
Please Note* The bursary is intended to support accredited education and training only – it does not cover additional costs such as equipment, travel, or accommodation. Furthermore, the STH will not consider retrospective applications, and all approved applications must be submitted at least four weeks before the event start date. We will not consider applications that support private practice or do not benefit NHS patients.
Application Process
• Applications must be fully competed and approved by a Clinical Lead (or equivalent) prior to submission.

• Upon receipt of the fully completed and approved Application Form, the STH will process, and an outcome letter emailed to the applicant and Clinical Lead (or equivalent).
Please note: To allow as many GPs as possible to benefit from this scheme, a maximum total of £2,500 is available to each GP. The STH will take into account any previous funding received since the scheme’s launch in 2023.
