Midlands Faculty for Advancing Practice
Regional Faculties for Advancing Practice (AP) have been developed and established to drive forward change in advanced practice as outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan (2019) and People Plan 2020/21.
The aims are to increase return on advanced practice investments, drive modernised transformed pathways of care, and support improvements in both access to and the quality of patient care. These will help to drive workforce transformation and modernising agenda for advanced practice roles across the system.
Through stakeholder engagement processes one of the key aims in the Midlands is to guide organisations on the implementation of advanced practice where organisations might be in a developmental phase of activity.
Further information can be found on the Midlands Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice website.
Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England
In 2017, Health Education England and NHS England and NHS Improvement worked in partnership to develop a national framework for advanced clinical practice, which ensures that there is national consistency and understanding about advanced level practice.
This is the first time that a national framework has existed in England and has established a shared understanding of the advanced level practitioners and how they can be deployed to deliver better patient care.
Further information can be found on the Centre for Advancing Practice website.
